Within what art genre did Warhol work?
Pop art.

Define the genre?
Filmmaking and printmaking.

During what years was he alive?
August 2, 1928- February 22, 1987.

Post 2 samples of his art. Answer the following questions for each piece.
warhol_flowers1970_1.jpgThis piece is called the Warhol flower.He uses very warm colors and the bright colors make the flower pop out more. Also I noticed that the ones on the left are kind of a messy look and the ones on the right are neat and makes it look more surreal.

promo_Andy-Warhol---Michael.jpgThis piece is a portrait of Michael Jackson. He used monochromatic colors in this one, which are yellow, red, and blue. I noticed he used a neutral color for his skin tone. It's very well done. It really does look like him.

Research Post: Steve Jobs

Who is Steve Jobs?
An entrepreneur and innovator in computers.

What company was he CEO for many years?
Apple Inc.

What did he do for the computer industry?
Created computer. phones, and mp3's/i-pods.

How did this man impact the graphic design industry?
By creating all these new and more improved electronics.

Review Week 8

Why must designers pay close attention to how color is utilized within a composition?
To be able to understand the colors used and see the affects.

Why is the color wheel an important tool for graphic designers?
It helps designers mix colors together using the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.

Find an example of neutral colors utilized within a design (hint: google poster design). Near the sample, discuss why you feel the designer included neutral colors within the composition.
